The Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park is one-of-a-kind art park in the heart of Historic Downtown Wilson Vollis Simpson was a farm machinery repairman who had a way of turning metal scraps into magnificent sculptures that, with the slightest breeze, would come alive, spinning and turning with the wind. The park has 31 kinetic sculptures, some are over 50 feet in height.
