PATH in downtown Toronto, is a collection of tunnels and walkways that connect around 70 buildings and form over 30 km of underground space. It has over 1200 retail stores and is the largest underground shopping complex in the world. In wintertime, workers and visitors do not have to emerge in to the Toronto cold to reach their destination.
Twenty parking garages, five subway stations, two major department stores, six major hotels, and a railway terminal are also accessible through PATH. Tourist attractions such as the CN Tower and the Hockey Hall of Fame can also be reached underground.
