More info: In the City of Los Angeles, in 2023, there were 327 homicides, which was a 17% reduction in homicides as compared to 2022. All geographic Bureaus within the LAPD saw a reduction in homicides.
Los angeles citywide Violent Crimes showed a 3.2% decrease in 2023 compared to 2022; however, Citywide Part 1 Crimes showed a 1.9% increase from 2022. Citywide, there was a decrease of 10% (-127) in victims shot in 2023 compared to 2022.
