More info: The City of Orange lies along the Santa Ana River. The town was laid out in 1871 and renamed in 1875 for its orange groves. The centre of the city is situated around a roundabout which is shaped like an orange. The circle surrounds Plaza Park, which is the heart of Orange and the site of the annual Orange International Street Fair.
The historic downtown area still features some of the old buildings of the past and is on the National Register of Historic Places. This neighborhood has the second-highest concentration of historic buildings of any part of California and the craftsman homes and bungalows preserve the look of old Southern California.
