Verbier is a resort town and ski area in the eastern part of the Swiss canton of Valais near Martigny.

Verbier has developed into a glamorous winter playground and an expensive resort. As soon as the first snow falls, Verbier becomes a mecca for winter sports enthusiasts. The resort of Verbier is known to ski tourers as a staging-post on the "Haute Route" from Chamonix to Zermatt.
Verbier is the home of the Xtreme Verbier, the final stop on the Freeride World Tour. This extreme skiing and snowboarding contest is held on the famous Bec des Rosses mountain in March.
In Summer there are over 500kms of signposted trails across the Verbier heights and the Val de Bagnes. Climbing the summit of Mont-Fort, gives sweeping views from the Matterhorn to Mont Blanc. The region also has many trails for mountain bike enthusiasts. There are 2 golf courses, an adventure park and paragliding amongst other pursuits of offer.
