More info: The village of Skarsvag is situated on the northern coast of the island of Mageroya in the extreme north of Norway. It is a fishing village with a harbour and a fishing fleet which has access to the North Cape and the Barents Sea. They catch cod, halibut and haddock. Skarsvag has around 60 residents and is the most northern settlement in the world accessible via a major road network – route E69 which ends 14 kms away at North Cape.

The island features a bleak, barren, tundra-covered landscape devoid of any trees, except for a few small pockets of mountain birch. The island's famous bird cliffs are quite spectacular, and home to thousands of puffins, gannets and cormorants.

The highest average temperature in Skarsvag is 12°C in july and the lowest is -1°C in january. The water temperature is between 5°C and 12°C.
