More info: Tower 55 is located just south of downtown Fort Worth and is one of the nation's busiest and most congested rail intersections. Tower 55 holds vital national and international significance, connecting freight and passenger travel between the West Coast, Southeast, Midwest, Gulf Coast, Mexico and Canada.
There are more than 100 freight trains that travel through the rail intersection a day with Union Pacific, BNSF and FWWR. Amtrak runs two trains daily that pass through here – number 21 and 22 - the Texas Eagle. Also visible in the background is the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) line.
Passenger trains include Trinity Rail Express commuter trains from Dallas to Fort Worth’s Intermodal Transportation Center and the T&P Passenger Terminal. Amtrak’s Texas Eagle and Heartland Flyer also stop at the Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation Center.
