Tarragona is a historic port city in northeastern Spain's Catalonia region, famously known as the most Roman city in the country. It is located on the Mediterranean Sea and serves as the capital of both the Tarragonès county and the Tarragona province. It was founded by the Romans in 218 B.C., when it was called Tarraco and was was a major capital of the Roman Empire.

Due to the immense historical value, the entire Archaeological Complex of Tàrraco is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Beyond its ancient ruins, Tarragona is a vibrant destination filled with Catalan traditions.
