The impressive "Old Town" of Tossa de Mar is a walled enclosure standing on a headland looking out to the Mediterranean sea. It is the only fortified medieval town still standing on the Catalan coast. Tossa de Mar is one of the most emblematic and photographed towns on the Costa Brava.
The 1951 film “Pandora and the Flying Dutchman” starring Ava Gardner and James Mason was filmed in Tossa de Mar.
