    The webcam is located at the Sloop Inn - one of Cornwall's oldest and most famous Inns, believed to date from around 1312 AD.

More info: Porthmeor Beach is located on the north side of St. Ives, near the Tate St Ives building and this scenic golden sandy beach is popular with swimmers and surfers. Porthmeor Beach is one of West Cornwall's premier surfing beaches enjoying the Atlantic swell which produces great surf all year round. It is also St Ives' most dramatic beach facing the full force of the Atlantic Ocean and flanked by rugged headlands.

Porthmeor Beach is a consistent winner of the Blue Flag award. The St Ives Surf School, is located right on the beach and offers surfing, stand up paddleboarding, coasteering and kayaking.

The South West Coast Path leaves from the western end of the Porthmeor Beach giving access to the headlands of Carrick Du and Clodgy Point, which are nice places for a picnic and to admire the views.
