Info: Miami Beach ia a slender, nine-mile-long barrier island along the Atlantic Ocean and is divided into three distinct neighborhoods. South Beach stretches from South Pointe Park north to 23rd Street and is the most iconic and well known.
Ocean Drive, in Miami South Beach, is famous for its beautiful pastel coloured Art Deco buildings and has been the backdrop for many well known films. The avenue runs parallel to the Atlantic Ocean and offers trendy nightlife, luxury oceanfront hotels, fine dining, and a world-famous beach scene.
South Pointe Park in South Beach offers a close-up view of ships heading through the deep-water channel, known as “Government Cut”, to the Port of Miami. Across the channel are the Mediterranean-style buildings of the upscale and exclusive Fisher Island, which is accessible only by ferry.
One of the most unique places to visit in South Beach is Wynwood Walls, an Urban Graffiti Art Museum. This special art community was established back in 2009 after Tony Goldman decided there should be a place for the largest and greatest street art in Miami. Some of the best artists in graffiti have been able to display their talents at Wynwood Walls with over 50 artists representing 16 countries, having covered over 80,000 square feet of walls.
