More info: Mawgan Porth is both a beach and a small settlement on the north Cornish coast, situated mid way between Padstow and Newquay.
Mawgan Porth beach is a beautiful tranquil cove backed by dunes and with cliffs at each end. The beach is wide, sandy and west-facing, which gathers impressive Atlantic swells. A stream flows to the sea at the southern edge of the beach and there are some rock pools.
Mawgan Porth is a popular surfing location and the South West Coast Path passes behind the beach. A walk north leads to Padstow, passing en route the legendary Bedruthan Steps and taking the route south from Mawgan Porth the path goes to Watergate Bay, Porth and finally Newquay.
