More info: The Costa da Caparica is the beautiful 26km long coastline which extends along the western side of the Setubal Peninsular. It has stunning scenery with sandy beaches and powerful Atlantic waves which makes it ideal for surfing and kitesurfing.
The coastline is named after the largest town of the region which is a modern, lively resort town. Further along the coast is Fonte de Telha, a traditional fishing village and the attractive lagoon of Lagoa de Albufeira / a picturesque lagoon surrounded by untouched pine forests and beautiful beaches.
Much of the southern Costa da Caparica coast lies within the “Arriba Fossil” a nature reserve which protects the fossil rich cliffs.
