More info: Cox Bay beach is a 1.5-kilometer-long stretch of soft sand scattered with a typical West Coast assortment of driftwood, kelp, and other tidal debris. It is located at the south end of Tofino close to the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. Cox Bay beach provides endless, unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean, and the waves here can be large with a strong under-tow.
Surfers flock to Cox Bay during the summer months because this west-facing beach seems to catch the smaller swells and tends to produce decent-sized waves while neighboring, Long Beach and Chesterman Beach are mostly flat.
