Gorleston is very much a traditional British seaside resort. It has a huge expanse of sandy beach, seaside gardens and an attractive promenade following along the seafront.
On the clifftop, there are lovely views of the beach, pier and harbour. The Norfolk Coast Path runs from the beach along the cliff tops. The beach is popular with windsurfers and at the foot of the cliffs, there is a yacht pond, paddling pool, bowling green and tennis courts.
The Pavilion Theatre opposite the pier, puts on a lively theatre program during the busier summer months with a varied range of plays and entertainment.
Gorleston-on-Sea’s Pier Hotel and beach feature as a key location in Danny Boyle’s 2019 film Yesterday.
The Gorleston Golf Club lies on top of the cliffs and was established in 1906. It is famous for being the most Easterly Course in the British Isles.
