More info: The Cayucos Pier was constructed in 1872 by Captain James Cass, and is a remnant from the days when Cayucos was an important commercial port for ships sailing from Los Angeles to San Francisco. The 982-foot pier was rebuilt in 2015 and is a favorite spot for fishing, enjoying the Pacific Coast sunsets, and even whale-watching.

The pier has excellent views of the town, the beach, the rolling hills, and even Morro Rock in the distance to the south. Just north of the pier is Cayucos Creek which flows across the sand at times.
