L'Ametlla de Mar is a small, traditional fishing village in the south of the Costa Dorada and the port area of ametlla has a large fleet of fishing boats.

More info: L’Ametlla de Mar is an unspoilt fishing town on the Costa Dorada and approximately 50 kms south of Tarragona. L’Ametlla de Mar's coastline is 16 km long and is made up of 30 bays and beaches. Some of the beaches have fine, white sand whilst others are pebbly. They are surrounded by pine trees and have crystal-clear water due to the abundance of Posidonia found there.
L’Ametlla de Mar is home to the largest tuna fishing fleet in Catalonia and the fish auction takes place in the harbour every day from 4pm.
The town has a Museum of Popular Ceramics whose collection is made up of ceramics from all over the Iberian Peninsula and is considered to be the largest collection of its kind in Europe. There are about 4,500 permanent exhibits.
