More info: Bournemouth is the largest resort in Dorset and has seven miles of sandy beaches stretching between Hengistbury Head and the mouth of Poole Habour. The beaches at Bournemouth are very family friendly and some of the safest beaches in the UK with RNLI Lifeguards based there between April and September .

During the summer months there is a Land Train running along the beach promenade which goes from Bournemouth Pier to Boscombe Pier. As well as fantastic views, Bournemouth pier has an amusement arcade, a variety theatre, bar and restaurant, gift shop and the Rock Reef climbing centre which apart from rock climbing, has the world’s first pier-to-shore zip wire.

Key West Bar and Grill is located at the end of Bournemouth Pier, which provides unrivalled and panoramic views of the coastline.

The eastern and western ends of Bournemouth Beach are backed by fairly steep cliffs. There is a zig zag footpath leading from the cliffs and also three historic funicular railways along the bay, linking the beach with the clifftop.
