More info: De Koog is the main seaside resort village on Wadden Island, Texel. It is separated from the wide sandy beaches of the North Sea by just two narrow rows of sand dunes.
Located just south of the village, Ecomare is a prominent nature museum, seal sanctuary, and aquarium dedicated to the Wadden Sea and North Sea wildlife. Dunes of Texel National Park which flanks De Koog, is a protected area with extensive paths for cycling and hiking through pine forests, heathlands, and high sand dunes.
