More info: If you look at Cancun on a map you will it has the shape of a number 7. The top of the 7 is the north side. There are 11 public beaches in Cancun’s Hotel Zone. Cancun has around 14 miles (22 kilometers) of beaches in the Hotel Zone which cam be divided in to two types :-
The beaches on the north side of Cancun are protected from the open ocean by Isla Mujeres. They tend to be less crowded and have more tranquil water which is generally safe for swimmers of all ages. There are numerous water sport rental facilities and boat docks.
The beaches in the east side face the Caribbean sea and have more exciting waves. The sea is a rich turquoise colour and there are spectacular sunrises.
