Alanya beach stretches from the harbour in Alanya along the coast road for several kilometres, to a river mouth that separates it from its neighbouring beach Oba Beach.

The historical old part of the town sits on a rocky peninsula with an impressive 13thcentury castle. Its wide beaches lined with hotels include Cleopatra Beach, where the Egyptian queen reputedly swam. The iconic Red Tower of Kizilkule Fortress is a symbol of the city dating back to 1226. It was intended to protect the Tersane, or shipyard, which dates from the same era. The tower stands at 33 metres tall and climbing to the top gives panoramic views across Alanya and its bay.
